As a world-class conference programme for Trees, People and the Built Environment II (TPBE II) is announced, key themes emerging for the event include the future for our urban forests and the global shift towards biophilic cities.
Delegates at the forthcoming TPBE II conference can expect an exciting event on 2-3 April, following the announcement of a packed programme. The line up includes leading names from the built and natural environment sectors, with speakers travelling from Brazil, Canada, China, France, Indonesia, Switzerland and the USA, to join our UK experts. Speakers will look at a wide range of topics in relation to urban forestry including governance, urban climate, design and economic perspectives, in addition to how an integrated approach can be achieved between the natural and built environments.
Keynote speakers include Sir Terry Farrell OBE, Architect and Planner, Professor Tim Beatley, Professor of Sustainable Communities, University of Virginia and Founder of the Biophilic Cities Network, and Prof Herbert Girardet, Co-Founder of the World Future Council.

The Trees, People and the Built Environment II conference returns following its inaugural success in 2011, to a new venue of the University of Birmingham. TPBE II is a major pan-industry initiative of some twenty professional bodies and organisations and the event is hosted by the Institute of Chartered Foresters.
