Beech leaf disease (BLD) is an emerging disease caused by a foliar-feeding nematode, or microscopic roundworm, known as Litylenchus crenatae mccannii. All cultivars of our native European beech as well as American beech are susceptible.
The LTOA pest and disease working party has put together an information leaflet on this future potential threat on what to look for and how to manage BLD.
