Our membership of tree officers, associate members across London, and those further afield are the most valued part of the association. More than ever we are under pressure to deliver good tree care in the capital, but that is a challenge with the lack of workforce and funding to effectively to do so. To keep us all going, the LTOA needs our members to:
- Join working parties to produce best practice documents
- Volunteer time to host events such as seminars or walks
- Attend quarterly seminars
- Respond to LTOA surveys
- Actively engage in central government consultations
- Share ideas and /or concerns with the Executive Committee or the relevant working party
- Put yourself forward to be an Executive Committee member as new members always welcome
Over the next few years, the LTOA would like to offer our members more activities, and opportunities, to meet up and share ideas, which will help us all grow professionally and personally. These will involve tree officer walks, organised day excursions, structured training on subsidence, support to attend external conferences, support to fund research trips, plus others. Expect updates in the coming months on opportunities to get involved in structured, and not so structured, opportunities throughout the year. Networking and collaborating on various areas of work, will help us all continue to support London’s urban forest, and continue to be a trusted organisation for tree knowledge in the UK.
